It’s early March at the time of writing this piece and there are definite signs of Spring in the air. The weather has suddenly changed from that seemingly interminable gloom to blue skies at last. The mornings remain crisp and chilly but the daytime temperatures are certainly beginning to rise. Our birds and plant life are responding accordingly. And so we are dusting down our gardening tools and preparing for our first work party of the year.
The next work party will take place on Saturday, 12 April starting at 10.00 am as usual. “Many hands make light work” as the saying goes so if you have any time that morning we’d be delighted to see you. No gardening skills are really needed and there will be a suitable job for anyone who can make it.
The Pocket Allotment team are already gearing up for their second year of planting and harvesting. The work party should provide the opportunity to get all other areas of our grounds looking spick and span too.
The lunch that follows these events always provide a sociable opportunity for people to chat and catch up on news so if you have the time after the work is done do please feel there is a warm invitation to join us. Lunch will be served around 12/12.30 pm.
