In recent years we have been arranging just two work parties each year, typically in the spring and autumn. However, the six-month gap between work party dates usually means that things can get a bit untidy around the Church premises. So, for 2026 we are going to aim for quarterly work parties instead. The improved regularity should also mean that there is an easier job for people to do on each occasion than before.
So, if you are of the green-fingered persuasion – or perhaps just tidy-minded – could you please make a note of the following work party dates for this year:
Saturday, 14th February
Saturday, 11th April
Saturday, 11th July
Saturday, 26th September
All work parties will start at 10.00 am each day so if you have any free time on any of the planned dates we’d be delighted to see you.
The Pocket Allotment team will be entering their third year in 2026 and will be hoping for another successful season of food growing for the local community. As always this means that the Aston Road side of the Church grounds are regularly worked on and kept tidy. This eases the efforts of the work parties considerably.
As previously there will be a sociable lunch after all the hard work is done each day so do stay and join us if you can. Lunch will usually be served around 12/12.30 pm.
