NEXT MEETING Thursday 5th September
On the first Thursday of July we held our fourth Tea, Coffee, Cakes & Chat session and once again we enjoyed an afternoon of delicious tea, coffee & a selection of homemade cakes. Better still was the company who included people from church but also non-members.
This article is here partly to remind everyone that there will be a break in August so there will be no session but also to contemplate the unexpected success of the event! We decided to offer an opportunity to meet up once a month at the Away Day Afternoon in September 2023 – to invite members of the congregation to meet at a different time to worship and with the thought that it would give more time to chat than is sometimes possible on a Sunday after our services.
Although there were only five of us at the first meet up back in April, since then the numbers have grown and I’m delighted to report that we have attracted a few people who are not church members. This was, of course, part of our purpose. We wanted to reach out to our local community.
We will next meet on Thursday 5th September at the usual time of 2.30 – 3.30 pm. Please do come along and, if you feel inclined, bring a cake!
