Dalcroze Eurhythmics for adults

Explore music through movement in this fun method created by Emile Jaques-Dalcroze!

Dalcroze teaches the elements of music through movement and a typical lesson might include
showing the beat from a piece of music either with the body or by stepping through the room.
Rhythms are taught in the same way and instructions are led by piano improvisation. Over a course
of lessons topics such as metre, phrasing or canon will be explored, to name but a few!

Dalcroze overlaps with dance and improves flexibility, coordination, balance, and strength. There is
also an emphasis on paired and/or group work, creativity, and self-expression. Lessons are fun and
often end in laughter!

Join the Ealing Dalcroze Eurhythmics group which meets each Monday in the St. Aidan’s Hall. There
is no age limit and no prior experience is necessary, just a love and curiosity about music, the
willingness to move and to work with others. The lessons are created as ‘stand-alone’ events but you
will gain much more from attending regularly.

If you enjoy movement and love exploring music then this is for you!
