Pocket Allotment – Spring into Summer

Spring comes and goes this year – sunny and warm one minute and then cold and wet with hailstones the next. Our fruit and veg are very confused but are continuing to grow. Hopefully our tomatoes will really put on a spurt from now on.

We are delighted with the continued enthusiasm of our volunteers and the number of people who stop and chat when we are on the allotment on a Saturday morning. A few of our local cub group have become very involved and planted up a tub of radishes recently.

Our new wildlife area is growing. Alongside our water tub (with native plants) is a wood pile to encourage bugs of all types to shelter there. Tree surgeons have been helpfully giving us some branches and logs.
