After many years of faithful and dedicated service, Barbara Henderson has stood down as Church Secretary to take a well-earned rest. Barbara saw the church through the last vacancy and the calling of a new minister; she was instrumental in getting me up to speed with church life and I am deeply grateful for all the support and guidance she has given me. Deeply committed to her faith, Barbara has been in church almost every Sunday, shepherding us through the practicalities of worship, and on many a weekday too as she prepared weekly sheets, rotas, agendas and numerous other background tasks.
We all owe Barbara an enormous debt of gratitude for all that she has done. I hope and pray that, as she lays down her responsibilities, she will embrace and enjoy a new-found freedom, and that she will be richly blessed.
Congratulations and many thanks to John Mitchell, who became our new Church Secretary at the Annual Church Meeting on March 20th. John has been a serving elder for many years, a Trustee of the Church Centre, and for the last two years has served as Chair of the Trustees and of the Centre Management Committee, seeing the Centre through the difficult decisions of lockdown and re-opening.
