Work Party – Saturday, 14 October

Talk about enjoying a ‘weather window’.  The balmy Indian Summer that we had all enjoyed in early October had disappeared; the weather had turned both colder and wetter but the sun shone again for our latest St Andrews work party in mid-October.

This is a seasoned task force now with a clear idea of what needs to be done before even turning up on the day.  Consequently, our small group were able to get through numerous tasks before lunch beckoned.

This work included making further progress with the clearance that has been achieved along our Aston Road border.  Plans are well advanced to turn this area into an interesting, planted space that will benefit both the Church and our local community.

Lynne Cheatley was back to her cooking best with a hearty lunch of soup and salad for the workers after the jobs had been completed.  It was a great pleasure to have her back with the working party after a bit of a break.

Our next work party will be our regular Spring Clean event in early 2024.  You don’t need to have green fingers for this work but if you enjoy the fresh air and some like-minded company, do come and join us.
