We are sorry to share news of the death of Lynne Cheatley.
Lynne was a faithful church member and regular attender at worship with her husband Sam until his death in 2023. She continued to put her experience in catering to good use, providing excellent lunches for the church working parties and cooking meals for the Winter Night Shelter. Last Christmas she catered for the Christmas nibbles, which turned out to be a feast.
Lynne was also a phenomenal knitter, making countless garments for premature babies and then for the Salvation Army Baby Bank. In the Knitting Group, she taught new people and rescued anyone whose work had got into difficulties.
After Christmas, she developed a virus from which she never fully recovered. She was persuaded to go to hospital and seemed to be doing well, but then suffered a heart attack and died on 14th March.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her sister Moir and family and her friends. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
