Mission Council news

The autumn meeting of Mission Council, the United Reformed Church’s (URC) executive body of the General Assembly, took place between 15-17 November at The Hayes Conference Centre, in Swanwick, Derbyshire. Acting on behalf of General Assembly, Mission Council appointed the Revd Dr John Bradbury to serve as General Secretary, and the Revd Nicola Furley-Smith was inducted as Secretary for Ministries. Items on the agenda included: how best to provide professional and pastoral supervision to URC ministers; plans for supporting the Church’s pension funds, and how the URC will progress its involvement in the Council for World Mission’s ‘Legacies of Slavery’ project and several ideas were considered.
